Yayoi Kusama and Louis Vuitton

Huge collaboration. Avant-garde artist, fashion designer and one of the most iconic artists to emerge from Japan. Yayoi Kusama joins up with french luxury label Louis Vuitton. 
Growing up as a child she experienced hallucinations of her mother with dots on her face and strange visions of spots. She grew up around the family business in a wholesale seed company which consequentley imprinted on her life. In 1957 Kusama came to New York to continue her craft and follow in the footsteps of follow artist and friend Georgia O'Keeffe. I remember studying this lady for my art course in secondary school. 
Kusama gained recognition in New York and became an influential voice for the avant-garde. 
Currently living in a mental hospital by choice she travels to work everyday to continue creating sensational and innovative works of art. Here are a few snaps of the collection.

Alexander Wang's niece Aila Wang rocking it at fashion week in New York back in February. Too cute. This girl is putting even the elite fashion savvy to shame. Just goes to show you can never start too young. Absolutely adore her.
